State of the Art

State of the Art Pop Up Gallery is a showcase that brings fine art to an accessible level and features a diverse group of artists, collectives, and galleries, hosted by Geodesic Designs. Shows are held monthly as “pop-up” gallery events to provide opportunities for local, regional, and national artists to exhibit and sell their works.

SOTA also provides an Art Subscription Service that brings art curatorial services clients of both public and private spaces that produces a platform for emerging art enthusiasts to encounter local art. Periodically rotating the art creates an environment for inspiration for employees and clients alike.

We are currently based out of 1680 N. Ada Street, Chicago, IL.

Keith Skogstrom & Geodesic Designs – Founder/Director

Keith Skogstrom is the Founder & Director of SOTA. He is an artist, skilled craftsman, and all-around good guy who lives, works, and plays in Chicago. Keith graduated in 2008 from Ohio University with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Painting, and has been working as an artist in Chicago for the past five years. Keith’s keen eye for design accompanied by his ability to construct functional pieces of artwork and furniture has led to Geodesic Designs, a platform where art meets design in collaborative ways. While much of Keith’s work is displayed throughout the city, you will most likely find him in his at-home studio, The Sandbox, scheming his next creative endeavor. Check out his website and follow him:


Julia Kepler, Board Member

Julia moved to Chicago on a whim in 2009 and has been living here since. She graduated with a B.F.A. in Art History and recently obtained her Masters in Public Administration, Nonprofit Management.  With a strong background in nonprofit operations and development, Julia brings some business savvy knowledge to SOTA.  Art is still her creative outlet and she loves knitting, her dog, and tacos.
